I am an experienced elementary school teacher with a passion for helping young learners build strong reading and phonics skills. With a background in elementary education and expertise in inquiry-based learning, I strive to create a dynamic and engaging environment where students feel confident and motivated to succeed. My teaching approach is centered around personalized instruction—adapting lessons to meet the unique needs of each student while fostering a love for reading.

I bring a creative blend of technology and traditional methods to my virtual tutoring sessions, making learning interactive and fun. About the lesson

I use a highly interactive and structured approach to help students build foundational literacy skills. My methods include:

Phonics Instruction: I focus on teaching letter-sound relationships systematically, moving from simple sounds to more complex ones, helping students decode words effectively.

Guided Reading: Using leveled texts, I support students in developing fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary in context.

Multisensory Learning: Since virtual learning can feel distant, I engage students through activities that incorporate sight, sound, and movement, such as using digital flashcards, interactive reading games, and virtual whiteboards for writing practice.

Repetition and Practice: Mastery in reading and phonics comes with practice. I provide consistent opportunities for students to apply their skills through reading aloud, word games, and independent practice.

Phonemic Awareness: I ensure students have a strong grasp of phonemic awareness through activities like sound blending, segmenting, and rhyming, essential for word recognition and spelling.

Differentiated Instruction: Each student is unique, so I tailor my lessons to match their reading level, interests, and specific needs. I make sure struggling readers feel supported while more advanced students remain challenged.
