About Neil

Hello! My name is Neil, and I am excited to share a little bit about myself with you.

I am a Spanish & English Teacher with a passion for language, travel and the outdoors. I believe that life is all about pursuing your dreams and living the best you can, and I am committed to helping others do the same.

Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in language tutoring, and I am constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to grow and develop my skills. I am dedicated to consistently broadening my tutoring abilities and linguistic knowledge to give my students the best experience they can get.

When I am not working, you can usually find me hiking, rock climbing, spending time with my family and friends, or exploring new countries and cultures. I believe that a well-rounded life is essential to achieving happiness and fulfillment, and I am always looking for new ways to expand my horizons.

About the lesson

I have a Bacelor's Degree in International Business and Spanish, alongside a separate certification with Distinction in Spoken Spanish.

I have 6+ years of tutoring experience, and have catered to all levels of ability from beginner to advanced, tutoring students spanning ages from 6 - 55+. I have 5+ years of experience living and travelling in Spanish speaking countries, and as such have a profound knowledge of the introcacies of the Spanish language, both the type spoken in Spain, and also the many types spoken all over Latin America.

Having studied Spanish myself at 3rd level and taught it so much, I have a deep knowledge of the workings os the language, it's verbs, it's grammar and how to best use the language to achieve the particular goals that you would like to achieve.

My lessons are fun and hugely varied, depending on your learning goals. I can tailor lessons specifically to greatly improve your speaking ability and fluency, or focus on the development of a deeper understanding on how Spanish grammar works, how to best use different grammar points, or how to best use verbs with certain grammar to best convey a point.

I have a significant amount of experience living, studying and working in Spanish spanning multiple industries and countries, meaning that I have vast knowledge on the differences between more "casual" Spanish and more "formal" Spanish, being able to provide useful lessons and examples of both, and when to use both best, depending on your learning objectives.

I have been to and spent time in most countries within the Spanish-speaking world, and the breadth of my knowledge relating to the Spanish language sets me apart from other teachers - if there is a particular country you will go to, or particular specifics of a Spanish dialect spoken in Latin America or the Carribean that you would like to explore and learn more about, I can also cater tailor-made lessons to further your knowledge in this niche area of the language.

I am adaptable, thorough, have a burning passion for the Spanish language itself, and moreover, teaching it, seeing my students develop high levels of linguistic ability and most importantly of all, enjoying themselves whilst doing it! I offer flexible-length lessons, and can adapt lesson length to suit student. Generally 30 mins or 1 hour slots.
