About Riaz

I am a secondary school Maths Teacher and part-time Maths tutor. I have experience in the world of teaching, covering all aspects of the national curriculum, assessments and independent learning strategies to challenge children. I am committed to delivering outstanding and engaging lessons. I have many years of classroom teaching experience across various exam boards, so I am well equipped to help with any queries you have. I want to help you achieve your best in a subject that is often perceived as hard and confusing, so I incorporate practical activities, exam practice, self-assessment, and lots of interaction and discussion into sessions. Whatever your learning style is, I will accommodate this and work with you to boost your confidence and reach your potential. Both myself and my students have found it incredibly rewarding when they end up producing impressive results, and it is a joy to observe that with this success, they are more keen to further their learning. Helping children on a 1:1 basis is so effective for those children that would not show their potential in school, or for those who were shy...or where teachers would not be able to pay attention to specific children because of the thirty in the class. Now, I want to offer my support and teach children at diverse levels and make sure they make the best possible progress

About the lesson

I want to help you achieve your best in a subject that is often perceived as hard and confusing, so I incorporate practical activities, exam practice, self-assessment, and lots of interaction and discussion into sessions. Whatever your learning style is, I will accommodate this and work with you to boost your confidence and reach your potential. Both myself and my students have found it incredibly rewarding when they end up producing impressive results, and it is a joy to observe that with this success, they are more keen to further their learning. My approach to tutoring is very systematic, however at the same time I adapt to the specific child's needs. Every child I have tutored so far, I have built a bond with. I hold a fair, firm and fun attitude towards learning. My aim is to not only teach children but to also help them enjoy their learning, by creating a safe, fun and secure learning environment. Every term, I give children mock term assessments as integral preparation to help consolidate their learning. This enables me to know how much they have learnt from my sessions and what areas they still need to improve on. This method is also the key for exam success.

Perfect! Riaz is definitely a gem on SuperProf, I’ve been looking for the perfect Maths tutor for myself for a while now and I just could not seem to find one until I did a trial lesson with Riaz.
