About Carol
I have been a primary teacher since 1998. I have BEd (hons) and an MEd. I teach all curricular areas, but I have a passion for literacy.
I believe literacy is the foundation for achievement across all curricular areas. Throughout my career I have led literacy improvement initiatives that have resulted in measurable improvements in attainment and engagement.

I’m an experienced Scottish primary teacher with over 25 years’ classroom experience and a Masters degree in Education, offering individual literacy tuition for children.
I specialise in helping children who have the ideas but struggle to get them down on paper, lack confidence with writing, or need a little extra support with reading and comprehension.
Sessions are friendly, encouraging and tailored to the individual child rather than following a one-size-fits-all programme.

I’m happy to offer a free initial half hour session. This would be a check in with the student to carry out a literacy confidence check in. It would be an informal session to gauge level of ability and key areas for development.
