I am a fully qualified Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teacher with 17 years of experience teaching French, German and Spanish in UK comprehensive secondary schools.

About the lesson

I offer structured, tailored private tuition designed to take the panic out of GCSE exams and build confidence in language learning, especially in speaking and listening.

Every lesson is planned around the student's exam board specification (AQA or Edexcel), target grade, and specific areas for development.

How Lessons Are Structured:
We cover all four core exam components—Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking—so there are no surprises on exam day.

Speaking Exam Mastery: We will practise photo card descriptions, role-plays, and general conversation until speaking feels natural and fluid. We recycle key phrases across tenses to ensure that complex language criteria are met.

Grammar & Vocabulary Hacks: I teach clear, memorable frameworks for tenses and high-tier vocabulary and synonyms that directly translate to higher marks in writing papers.

Exam Technique & Past Papers: We work through real examiner mark schemes so students learn exactly what examiners look for to award top marks.
Because I mark these exams, I grade your child's practice essays and speaking prompts using the exact criteria used in the real test, giving them clear, actionable steps to move up a grade boundary.
