About Christina Blanche

I am a teacher who loves helping children progress in their learning, especially in the basics of reading, writing, and mathematics. I am interested in how individual children learn, their learning preferences, and interests. I enjoy tailoring lessons to their individual needs and interests, guiding them through the learning process to achieve goals and improve their educational outcomes. I have taught for many years and have experience in all grades - Kindergarten to Grade 6 as both a classroom teacher and a Learning Support specialist.

About the lesson

My tutoring sessions develop confidence and inspire a love of learning. Each session typically runs for 1 hour and covers a number of skills, processes and strategies which Primary school aged children require to master reading, writing or mathematics. Every child is taken from their assessed level of functioning, and with goals negotiated and firmly in place, each tutoring session is well paced and engaging using appropriate resources. Teaching techniques emphasise positive achievement of goals which enhances motivation and rewards application to task.
I am an experienced Learning Support teacher with qualifications from Queensland and James Cook Universities. I have taught for many years in different settings and in Queensland, New South Wales, United Kingdom and Canada.
