About Carrie
With over 20 years of experience as a primary school teacher, I have had the pleasure of teaching children across the full primary age range, from Reception through to Year 6. Throughout my teaching career, I have developed a real passion for helping children grow in confidence, overcome challenges and discover that learning can be enjoyable.

I believe that every child is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning. My tutoring sessions are therefore tailored to each individual child, taking into account their current abilities, areas for development, interests and, importantly, how they learn best.
Building a positive relationship with a child is at the heart of my approach. I understand how important it is for children to feel comfortable, listened to and confident enough to make mistakes without feeling worried or judged. I take the time to build a rapport with each child and work at a pace that suits them, celebrating their successes along the way.
Whether your child needs a little extra support, wants to build confidence in a particular subject, is preparing for an important stage in their education, or simply needs some additional encouragement to reach their potential, I aim to make every session engaging, supportive and purposeful.
With my extensive classroom experience, I can identify gaps in understanding, adapt my teaching accordingly and provide clear explanations and activities that are appropriate for your child’s age and ability.
Most importantly, I want children to finish a session feeling proud of what they have achieved and more confident in their own ability.
I would love to help your child develop the skills, confidence and positive attitude towards learning that will support them both in school and beyond.
