About Dr Narsimha

I am a passionate and experienced Chemistry tutor with a PhD in Applied Electrochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, one of India's leading research universities. I have over 15 years of experience in teaching, research, and mentoring students at school, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.

Most recently, I worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Sheffield, where I conducted research on advanced battery materials while supervising and mentoring students in laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and problem-solving. Throughout my career, I have taught practical and theoretical Chemistry, helping students develop a clear understanding of challenging topics and build confidence in their abilities.

My teaching style is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I believe that every student can succeed when lessons are engaging, well-structured, and adapted to their learning style. I focus on strengthening fundamental concepts, improving exam techniques, and encouraging critical thinking rather than simply memorising facts.

About the lesson

I believe every student can succeed in Science/Chemistry/Physics with the right guidance, encouragement, and teaching approach. My lessons are student-centred, interactive, and tailored to each learner's goals, whether they are preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels, university exams, or simply aiming to improve their understanding and confidence.

I begin by assessing the student's current knowledge, strengths, and areas for improvement. I then create a personalised learning plan that focuses on building strong fundamentals before progressing to more challenging concepts. I explain difficult topics using simple language, real-world examples, diagrams, and step-by-step problem-solving techniques to make Chemistry engaging and easy to understand.

My lessons typically last 60 minutes, although I also offer 90-minute sessions for students preparing for exams or requiring more in-depth support. Each lesson includes a review of previous learning, explanation of new concepts, worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions. I provide regular feedback and study strategies to help students become confident and independent learners.

I hold a PhD in Applied Electrochemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad and have over 15 years of teaching and research experience. I have taught undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervised research projects, and worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and university lecturer. More recently, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Sheffield, where I combined research with student supervision and mentoring.

My lessons are suitable for GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB, BTEC, foundation, and undergraduate Chemistry students, as well as adult learners seeking academic or professional development.
