About Sophier

My academic interests include evidence-based practice, decision-making in healthcare and qualitative research methods. I am currently completing doctoral research exploring out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.

I pride myself on being approachable, supportive and realistic in my teaching style. I understand that many students feel overwhelmed by academic writing, particularly alongside placements and personal commitments. My aim is to make academic expectations clearer, build confidence and help students develop independent academic skills.

Alongside my teaching experience, I have contributed to academic research and have published within a peer-reviewed healthcare journal.

About the lesson

I provide supportive, structured academic tutoring for healthcare students, particularly within paramedic science, and allied health professionals. My approach focuses on building confidence, critical thinking and academic independence rather than simply correcting work.

Lessons are tailored to the individual student and may include dissertation support, critical appraisal, literature reviews, research methods, reflective writing, and assignment planning. I use a coaching-style approach to help students understand how to strengthen criticality, structure arguments and apply evidence effectively within academic writing.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes and delivered online. I have experience as a university lecturer, course director, dissertation supervisor and external examiner within paramedic science higher education. Support is suitable for undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare students seeking developmental academic guidance.
