About Vasila

Hello, I'm Vasila, an online English tutor specialising in 11+ English, Verbal Reasoning, Adult EFL, Business English and English exam preparation.

I have over two years of experience teaching English online and have received excellent feedback from students for my supportive, practical and engaging teaching style.

What makes my approach different is that I am also a language learner myself. I have studied Spanish, Korean and French, as well as some Mandarin and Japanese. Through this experience, I understand the challenges learners face when studying a new language and can explain English in a clear and accessible way.

In addition to teaching, I bring more than 12 years of international business experience, having worked with colleagues and clients across different countries and cultures. This enables me to help students develop not only their English language skills but also the communication skills needed for professional and academic success.

For adult learners, I teach EFL from beginner to advanced levels (A1–C2), Business English, workplace communication, interview preparation and preparation for IELTS, TOEIC and Cambridge English examinations.

For younger learners, I provide structured support in 11+ English, including reading comprehension, vocabulary development, grammar, creative writing and verbal reasoning. I believe students learn best when they understand language through context and meaning rather than memorisation alone.

My goal is to help every student build confidence, improve communication skills and achieve their personal, academic or professional objectives in a supportive learning environment.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is practical, engaging and tailored to each student's goals.

Having learnt several foreign languages myself, including Spanish, Korean and French, I understand the challenges language learners face. Rather than relying solely on memorisation, I focus on helping students understand how English is used in real-life situations so that they can communicate with confidence.

For EFL students, lessons may include speaking practice, listening activities, reading exercises, writing tasks, pronunciation work, vocabulary development and grammar support. I also provide Business English coaching, interview preparation and support for IELTS, TOEIC and Cambridge English examinations.

For 11+ students, lessons focus on reading comprehension, vocabulary building, grammar, creative writing and verbal reasoning. I help students understand words through context, meaning and practical examples rather than simply memorising vocabulary lists. This helps improve comprehension, writing quality and confidence.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and are delivered online. Small group courses (where possible) are limited to a maximum of five students to ensure individual attention, while one-to-one lessons are fully tailored to the student's needs.
