Dorothee has been teaching our two children for the last three years. They enjoy and like French in school but we felt they would benefit from 1-to-1 tuition from a native speaker. The feedback we get from them is that lessons are always fun and a mixture of different language skills such as speaking, grammar, writing and awareness about France and its culture. Dorothee always uses a variety of techniques, from standard books and CDs and other internet resources. We could not recommend her more highly.

As a very senior citizen I decided to keep my mind active by "brushing up" my French. Dorothee tailors her tuition to suit my needs, patiently leading me back through tenses, conjugating irregular verbs and other challenges I could not have mastered without help .Age and noise exposure have not helped my hearing, which I had discovered made group classes useless, Dorothee's modest hourly rate for a weekly one-to-one lesson is ideal. Dorothee has been teaching our son GCSE French for 8 months. She has a very professional and enthusiastic approach and is a natural French speaker, a key attribute we required. She discusses and agrees objectives, and works with the student to achieve those goals. We saw the improvement in our sons French very soon after starting - after only 3 months our son was chosen to study for the “Foreign Language Leader Award”, after 4 months he was moved up to the top study group.

I am really enjoying my lessons with Dorothee. I started my lessons in order to improve my spoken French but wanted it to be enjoyable at the end of a day's work rather than an additional stress to an already busy life. She is always well prepared for the lessons and also willing to be flexible. If you get talking about something of interest she will be happy to continue with the conversation and not be concerned about the lesson plan. I look forward to my lessons and I have certainly gained in confidence.

I would just like to thank you for all the work you have done in helping Dan with his French. I was especially thankful for your extra help given at very short notice with Dan's controlled assessment. French is not his favourite subject but you are obviously doing something right because he goes to you every Thursday come rain or shine and never moans or tries to get out of it.
