About Sophia

I am originally from Paris, and French language and culture have always been an important part of my life. I love sharing not only the language, but also the culture, traditions, and everyday expressions that make French so unique.

Alongside teaching French, I am also a professional embroiderer. I have had the opportunity to work for renowned French fashion houses, including Chanel, which gave me a deep appreciation for French craftsmanship, creativity, and savoir-faire.

My creative background is also part of my teaching experience. During my three years at Coucou French Classes, I hosted embroidery workshops entirely in French, creating a fun and relaxed way for students to practice the language while discovering a traditional French craft.

I enjoy bringing this passion for French culture into my lessons and creating a friendly environment where students can learn French naturally, develop their confidence, and discover more about the culture behind the language.

About the lesson

I believe that learning French should be both effective and enjoyable. My lessons are always adapted to the student’s age, level, personality, and goals.

I currently teach at the International School of Los Angeles, where I work in an academic environment and have experience helping students develop strong foundations in grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Alongside my academic experience, I spent three years teaching at Coucou French Classes, where I developed a more relaxed and conversational approach to teaching French. I particularly enjoyed creating interactive lessons that encouraged students to speak, participate, and gain confidence without being afraid of making mistakes.

I like to combine these two approaches in my lessons. We can work on grammar and structure when needed, but also spend time speaking, practicing pronunciation, discussing everyday topics, and using French in realistic situations.

Whether you are starting from scratch, want to improve your conversation skills, need support with school, or simply want to feel more comfortable speaking French, I will adapt each lesson to your needs and pace.
