About Marida

Hello, my name is Merida, and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Education in Primary and Secondary Education at Monash University. I have successfully completed LANTITE and have teaching experience with students from Prep to Year 6.

I have independently taught small classes of approximately 8 to 18 students and have experience supporting students in Chinese, literacy, numeracy and general learning skills. My teaching style is patient, encouraging and adapted to each student’s individual needs. I use clear explanations, step-by-step modeling, visual resources, games and guided practice to make lessons engaging and easy to understand.

I believe that every student has different strengths and learning needs. Academic results do not define a student’s ability or personal value. My role as a tutor is to identify each student’s strengths, build their confidence and help them make steady progress through achievable goals and positive feedback.

I am organized, reliable and committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment. My lessons are suitable for primary school students, including beginners, students who need extra academic support and students who want to improve their confidence in Chinese, literacy or numeracy.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging and tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. I use clear explanations, step-by-step modeling, visual resources, games, questioning and guided practice to help students understand new concepts and build confidence. I also adjust the difficulty of activities and provide extra support or extension tasks depending on the student’s progress.

A typical lesson is 45 to 60 minutes. Lessons usually include a short review, explicit teaching of a new skill, supported practice, an engaging activity and a final check for understanding. I also give students specific feedback and set achievable goals so they can recognize their improvement.

I am currently completing a Bachelor of Education in Primary and Secondary Education at Monash University and have successfully completed LANTITE. I have experience teaching students from Prep to Year 6 and independently managing small classes of approximately 8 to 18 students. My experience includes Chinese-language teaching, literacy, numeracy and general learning support.

My lessons are suitable for primary school students, including beginners, students who need extra academic support and students who want to strengthen their confidence in Chinese, literacy or numeracy.
