About Jennie
Hello! My name is Jennie, and I am a certified mathematics teacher with over 13 years of classroom teaching and private tutoring experience. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and I am passionate about helping students discover that math can be understandable—and even enjoyable.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students of all ability levels, from those who need extra support to those seeking advanced challenges. I specialize in creating a positive, patient, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is to build confidence while helping students develop the skills they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond.
As a full-time middle school math teacher, I understand current curriculum standards, effective teaching strategies, and how to prepare students for quizzes, tests, state assessments, and higher-level math courses. Every lesson is personalized to fit each student's learning style, pace, and goals.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous concepts, followed by a clear explanation of the new topic using step-by-step examples. Students then work through guided practice with my support before completing independent practice to ensure they truly understand the material. I also incorporate test-taking strategies, real-world applications, and tips for avoiding common mistakes.
What sets me apart is my 12+ years of experience as a certified middle school math teacher and private tutor. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have extensive experience helping struggling students, English learners, and advanced students alike. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward math.
My lessons are designed for students in grades 4 through college-level introductory math. I tutor elementary math, middle school math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, SAT/ACT math preparation, homework support, test preparation, and students who simply need extra practice or want to get ahead.
