About Mohamed
I’m an experienced tutor with a strong academic background, having earned a degree in biochemistry and worked as an Organic Chemistry teaching assistant. I've also had the privilege of both tutoring and teaching a diverse range of students, from elementary school to adults, including at Rikers Island and as a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia. This experience has taught me the importance of patience, clear communication, and tailoring lessons to each student’s needs.
As a tutor, I focus on building a positive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I aim to inspire confidence by breaking down complex topics into manageable pieces and helping students see how the material connects to the real world. My goal is not just to help students succeed in their studies, but to encourage lifelong learning and critical thinking.

My Approach as a Tutor:
I believe in making learning enjoyable and accessible for all students. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps and encourage active problem-solving. My goal is to help students not only understand the material but also gain the confidence to tackle challenges on their own.
Teaching Method & Techniques:
I tailor my lessons to each student’s unique learning style, whether they learn best through visual aids, hands-on activities, or discussions. I make sure to explain things clearly and use real-world examples to show how the concepts are relevant. I also like to keep things interactive, so students stay engaged and feel comfortable asking questions.
Typical Lesson Plan:
Each lesson is a mix of review, new material, and practice. I start by going over any tricky areas from the previous session, then introduce new concepts with clear examples. We spend time working through practice problems together, and I give students exercises to reinforce what they’ve learned.
What Sets Me Apart:
As a biochem graduate, experienced GED tutor at Rikers Island, Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, and former Organic Chemistry TA, I’ve worked with students of all ages and backgrounds.
