Sheryn is a fantastic tutor and possesses particular expertise in guiding students at a VCE level. In my experience, Sheryn was always sensitive to my learning styles and general attitude. In this way, not only did she help me achieve a high average in VCE General Maths, but she also instilled in me confidence in pursuing my goals. I learnt VCE content whilst also amending my foundational understanding of mathematics - something I’ve always struggled with. Sheryn's patient and engaging teaching style allowed me to approach a previously stressful subject with immense enthusiasm. I’ve only ever recommended Sheryn as a tutor, and will continue to do so. She is beyond amazing and is the best tutor I've ever had!

I first met Sheryn when I was completing General Maths in my final year of high school and needed some help in a highly stressful time. My parents and I were recommended Sheryn through multiple trusted people, who had also found Sheryn for her tutoring services. Learning at Mathstar once a week helped cover anything I found confusing during the week that my teacher didn't have time to go over, but with Sheryn, I could dedicate time to ensuring I actually understood the concepts and could solve equations well. Sheryn is focused, keeps students on tasks and provides plenty of encouragement. My favourite thing about Sheryn's teaching style was how if one concept was explained to you in a way that you couldn't understand, then Sheryn would have other ways to explain and teach that concept to ensure that you actually understood how to solve problems. After I finished year 12, I also join Sheryn as a part of the tutoring staff at Mathstar. Sheryn was a wonderful boss to work under, who would provide support, especially with the stresses of university courses. When students could have difficulties, Sheryn would give advice on how to handle the situation going forward and back up our teaching decisions to parents. Sheryn was completing her Masters while I worked for her and I was overjoyed to hear she had completed it. Sheryn overall is a lovely human being, who cares so deeply for both her students and staff, has a passion for learning and teaching, and enjoys most of all being able to help someone enjoy learning and forward their education. That is why I recommend Sheryn to be the person you pick when needing help with maths.
