About Tooba

My name is Tooba, and I am someone who genuinely believes that everyone is capable of succeeding in Maths with the right support, encouragement, and guidance. With a Master’s degree in Applied Statistics—completed with distinction—and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, in which I achieved 90%, I have spent years developing a deep understanding of the subject. Yet what motivates me most is helping others understand it too.
I know what it feels like when a topic seems intimidating, and I also know the confidence that comes from finally mastering it. That transformation is what inspired me to become a tutor. As a tutor, I am patient, supportive, and committed to creating a learning environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and grow from them. I take pride in being reliable, well-prepared, and fully dedicated to my students’ progress.
Whether someone needs help catching up, preparing for exams, or building long-term confidence in Maths, I bring professionalism, clarity, and positive energy to every lesson. Teaching is meaningful to me because it allows me to empower students, celebrate their progress, and show them that they are capable of achieving far more than they think. My goal is to make each student feel understood, motivated, and genuinely excited about learning.

About the lesson

Ever since I began studying Mathematics and later completed my Master’s in Applied Statistics, I realised how powerful it can be when a difficult topic suddenly clicks for a student. That feeling is what shapes my approach to tutoring. When I meet a new learner, I start by understanding who they are—what they enjoy, what they struggle with, and how they think. Every student learns differently, so I design each lesson around their individual style, whether that means breaking ideas into small steps, using real-life examples, or practising together until they feel completely confident.
My lessons usually run for 60 to 90 minutes, giving us enough time to explore concepts deeply while keeping things relaxed and manageable. I bring the patience and clarity I gained during my Master’s degree in Applied Statistics and my Bachelor’s in Mathematics, making sure even the most challenging topics feel approachable. Over the years, I’ve helped learners of all ages—from KS3 students who need gentle guidance, to GCSE and A-level students preparing for exams, to adults returning to study who want to rebuild their confidence in Maths.
Above all, I aim to create a safe, encouraging space where mistakes are part of the journey and progress is celebrated. My goal is not just to teach Maths, but to help each student believe in their ability to succeed.
