About Raveena

I’m Raveena, an experienced Mathematics teacher with an M.Sc. in Mathematics and a B.Ed., with international classroom teaching experience. I am passionate about helping students develop a strong understanding of Mathematics and feel confident in their abilities.

I believe every student can learn Mathematics with the right guidance, patience, and approach. I create a supportive and comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes, and learn from them without feeling pressured.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s academic level, learning needs, and goals. Whether a student needs help understanding a challenging topic, preparing for an upcoming test, strengthening foundational skills, or preparing for the ACT or SAT, I adapt my teaching to meet their needs.

I am committed to being patient, organized, dependable, and encouraging in every lesson. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them become confident and independent problem-solvers.

About the lesson

My Approach as a Math Tutor

I’m Raveena, an experienced Mathematics teacher with an M.Sc. in Mathematics and a B.Ed., along with international classroom teaching experience. My goal as a tutor is to make Mathematics clear, approachable, and meaningful rather than something students simply memorize.

My teaching method and techniques:
I use a student-centered approach tailored to each learner’s current level and learning style. I first identify areas of difficulty and then explain concepts step by step using simple examples, visual methods, guided practice, and real-world applications. I encourage students to explain their reasoning so I can make sure they truly understand the concept rather than simply follow a formula.

A typical lesson:
I usually begin with a quick review or a few diagnostic questions to understand what the student already knows. We then introduce or review the main concept, work through examples together, and move into guided and independent practice. I finish with a short review of the key ideas and identify what the student should practice before the next lesson.

What sets me apart:
As a qualified Mathematics teacher with both an M.Sc. in Mathematics and a B.Ed., I bring both strong subject knowledge and professional teaching experience. I understand that students can struggle with Mathematics for different reasons, so I adapt my explanations rather than expecting every student to learn in the same way. I focus on building mathematical thinking, problem-solving skills, accuracy, and confidence.

Who my lessons are for:
I work with middle and high school students and can support learners in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and general Mathematics. I also help students prepare for standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT Math sections, as well as students who need homework support, test preparation, or help strengthening their mathematical foundation.

My aim is simple: help every student understand the “why” behind the math, develop effective problem-solving strategies, and become a more confident independent learner.
