About Patrick

Hi, I’m Patrick! I’m from Hong Kong and currently studying at McGill University. I offer tutoring in Math, Science, and Chinese for middle school, high school, and first-year university students. I’ve worked as a peer tutor for over a year, and I truly enjoy helping students learn and grow. My approach is patient, friendly, and focused on building real understanding. I know that every student learns differently, so I take the time to explain things clearly, go at the right pace, and make sure each session is engaging and stress-free. Whether you’re preparing for a test, catching up on classwork, or looking to get ahead, I’m here to help you feel more confident and in control of your learning. About the lesson

As a tutor, my goal is to make learning clear, comfortable, and confidence-building. I specialize in Math, Science, and Chinese for middle school, high school, and early university students, and I adapt each lesson to fit the student’s unique needs and learning style.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques
I believe students learn best when they feel supported and understood. I break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and use real-life examples whenever possible. I also ask guiding questions to help students think through problems instead of just giving answers, which builds deeper understanding.

Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous material, followed by a focus on the current topic the student is struggling with. I explain the concept in a clear and relatable way, then work through examples together. Finally, I give the student a chance to try problems on their own with support as needed. I also like to end with a quick summary to make sure everything clicks.

What Sets Me Apart
I’ve been a peer tutor for over a year, and students often tell me they feel more confident after our sessions. I’m patient, easy to talk to, and genuinely enjoy helping others succeed. Since I’m a student myself at McGill University, I understand the challenges students face and know how to explain things in a way that makes sense to them.
