About Ejumevwo Kelvin

Hi! My name is Kelvin, and I understand that navigating math and algebra can be challenging for many learners, whether they are kids or adults. But no worries, I am here to help. With over 14 years of experience, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Applied Mathematics, I am dedicated to providing personalized support for students at all levels, from elementary to college. Whether you are preparing for GCSEs, SATs, or AP exams or need help with everyday coursework, I am here to guide you through the material, ensuring you feel confident and successful. Let us tackle those math concepts together, one step at a time!

I specialize in making complex topics simple, clear, and enjoyable. My goal is to help you reach those “aha” moments where everything finally clicks. I tailor every lesson to your learning style. I use clear explanations, visual methods, real-life examples, and structured guidance — including ADHD-friendly approaches when needed so you can stay focused and make real progress.

About my sessions
Sessions are shaped by what each student needs. For some, the goal is a top grade in an upcoming exam. For others, it’s catching up, building confidence, or getting a head start before the new academic year. I work with students who are passionate about their subjects as well as those who feel stuck, frustrated, or disengaged.

Rather than sticking to a fixed plan, I adapt sessions in real time. If something isn't clicking, we slow down and focus on it until it does. If priorities shift, we shift with them. This flexibility helps each student make consistent, meaningful progress without getting overwhelmed. I also bring a wide library of resources to each lesson. These include past papers, targeted exercises, structured notes, and extension materials for those who want to go beyond the syllabus. Between sessions, I can provide support materials to help reinforce learning or guide independent study.

I have extensive experience preparing students for:
⦁ 11+, 13+, Common Pre-Tests, and top independent/grammar school entrance exams
⦁ GCSE and iGCSE across all major boards: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, CIE, WJEC
⦁ A-Level and Further Mathematics across all major boards: Edexcel, AQA, OCR, MEI, CIE, WJEC

Sessions are fully tailored, goal-focused, and responsive. Students leave with a clearer understanding of the material and a stronger sense of how to move forward. When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?
I have had an innate passion for mathematics from my primary school days. I was always in the lead in my class and received the best mathematics student award. I organized free maths tutorial classes for my classmates struggling with maths in secondary school. I continued helping students who needed support in maths as an undergraduate student and started getting favors from them in appreciation for helping them. The kind favor I received now serves as great motivation for me to continue doing the good work of assisting anyone struggling with mathematics.
What makes you passionate about your subject?
I want to see students who once struggled with mathematics become masters. I want them to see maths as a lovable subject. I want them to be well prepared to succeed in math effortlessly by understanding the underlying concepts.

What I like about tutoring is seeing my tutees with a clear understanding of concepts that once looked opaque to them in maths. I have helped 100% of my students succeed in maths. That makes me a Superprof.

One of my mathematics lecturers during my undergraduate studies was a great inspiration. He practically made mathematics fun for me. His classes were never boring for once, and I never studied so hard to pass his courses because his lectures were crystal clear. He automatically became my role model as I fell in love with teaching.

The keys to my success include but are not limited to these: patience, passion, strong interpersonal relationships, good communication, punctuality, respect for others, quick understanding, etc.
