About Linya

Hello! My name is Amy, and I am a 22-year-old graduate from RMIT University with a degree in Fashion Design. I grew up in Beijing and have been living in Melbourne for the past few years. My passion for teaching Mandarin stems from my love for the Chinese language and culture, as well as my desire to share it with others.

I enjoy staying active with various sports, particularly skiing, and have a deep affection for animals. My diverse interests and background enable me to connect with students on multiple levels, making learning engaging and relatable.

As a native Mandarin speaker with a solid educational background and several years of teaching experience, I am confident in my ability to help you achieve your language goals. • Personalized Feedback: I offer constructive feedback and targeted practice to address specific areas for improvement, ensuring steady progress.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes. This length is ideal for maintaining focus and ensuring thorough coverage of the material. However, I am flexible and can adjust the duration based on the student’s preference and availability.

Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:

• Native Mandarin Speaker: Growing up in Beijing, I have an authentic accent and deep cultural knowledge.
• Educational Background: I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from RMIT University in Australia.
• Teaching Experience: I have several years of experience teaching Mandarin to students of various levels and backgrounds, both online and in-person. My time in Australia has also given me a good understanding of the challenges English speakers face when learning Mandarin.
