• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I teach Konkani language, and my interest in this field developed from my love for languages, culture, and communication. Being connected to Konkani and understanding its importance in Goa inspired me to teach it professionally. Over time, I realized that many students, professionals, and even people preparing for entrance exams or government-related exams need guidance in Konkani. This motivated me to help learners improve their language skills with confidence.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My biggest motivation comes from my students and their progress. Seeing learners gain confidence in speaking, reading, and understanding Konkani gives me great satisfaction. I also believe language creates opportunities and connections, especially for students preparing for exams, interviews, or relocation purposes in Goa.

• How does your work help society?

  Teaching language helps preserve culture and improves communication among people. Through my classes, I help students learn Konkani for daily communication, academic purposes, entrance exams, and government-related requirements. I also support learners preparing for GPSC and language competency-based interviews, helping them feel more confident and prepared.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  I admire educators who are patient, dedicated, and passionate about sharing knowledge. A good teacher inspires students not only to learn but also to believe in themselves. I aim to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  Outside teaching, I enjoy travelling, exploring nature, learning about different cultures, and discovering new intellectual ideas and knowledge. I enjoy learning new things, personal development, and continuously improving myself and my teaching methods to make classes more engaging and effective for my students.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  One of the most rewarding experiences in my teaching journey has been helping students who initially lacked confidence in learning Konkani. Many students came to me feeling nervous about exams or interviews, but with consistent practice and guidance, they improved significantly and achieved their goals. Their positive feedback and success motivate me to continue teaching with dedication.
