About Linda

I am passionate about being creative. I've tried my hand at many different hobbies. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting, photography, quilting, beading, bargello and embroidery. There are still some that I have on my to-do list - like kumihimo, bead knitting, drawing and candlemaking.

My philosophy is that there is a "trick" to everything. Once you know what the trick is, you can master almost anything. The latest trick I shared is how to do avoid sewing over a zipper when sewing a bag, purse or organizer.

My mother thinks that I always pick the hardest project. That may be true...but I see it as picking a challenging project so I can find the trick and learn from it.

About the lesson

I am happy to share my skills via video or FaceTime. Whatever the student is comfortable with. For example, if you have a pattern you do not understand, you can send me a copy of the pattern and highlight where the problem is. I can make a video to show you how to resolve the problem and/or can do it live via FaceTime so you can ask questions in real time.

KNITTING:
I can knit cables, short rows, entrelac, circular knitting - to name a few. I've made knitted sweaters, scarves, afghans, baby toys and have done some wool felting.

SEWING:
As a sewer - I have made clothes (shirts, skirts, dresses, vests), accessories (bags, dopp kits, home decoration items, shawls, infinity scarves) and have done EPP (English paper piecing). I am familiar with a wide variety of notions and how to use them to your advantage --including notions you can find at non-traditional stores like Home Depot and Harbor Freight. Sewing tools do not have to be expensive.
