About Lucy
I am an experienced tutor with a Masters degree in French and Spanish from the University of Manchester, teaching both languages weekly in both a virtual and classroom environment. My current students range from business men and women looking to enhance their professional skills, students studying for exams, or individuals looking to make the most of their holidays and have a bit of fun along the way. I am familiar with both the UK curriculum and DELF (Diplôme d'études en langue française) and frequently provide support for both.
Outside of the classroom, I have used my language expertise to deal with the European Court of Human Rights, have worked as a business development manager for a language services company and a translator of foreign collections at the University Library in Manchester.
I have also been fortunate enough to live and work abroad; with a stint as a translator and interpreter for Sevilla Football Club and hotel work and management in Paris.
I adore languages and love sharing my passion with both new and experienced learners. I am relaxed, approachable and flexible and believe that, as far as private tutoring goes, the tutor must be led by the student in terms of their ability, how they learn best and, most importantly, what they enjoy.
