About Tamar

After majoring in French and Linguistics in NYU, I went on to study and then teach French immersion in francophone Canada. Then I taught high school French and worked for Amazon as a French linguist. I now teach French for the Canadian military.

About the lesson

My classes are geared towards establishing a strong basis in grammar which we then build upon to use in functional life. With me as a teacher you will not only learn how to speak, but how to speak well and why. With training in linguistics and phonetics, I focus on understanding the structures of French as compared with English, and insist on precise pronunciation which we practice each class. A normal class consists of the following structure: 1. Warm-up conversation related to the currently covered topic (15 minutes) 2. Pronunciation practice (10 minutes) 3. Grammar lesson with written practice 4. Vocabulary lesson with written practice 5. Oral practice exercise combining the grammar and vocabulary lessons
