About Isabelle

Bonjour! Hi! Holà! I've been teaching French as a foreign language to beginners, intermediate, and advanced students for over 3 years. I hold a TESOL certificate specializing in English, French, and Spanish, an MA in English Linguistics, Literature, and Civilization, and a BA in French as a Foreign Language. Having learned two foreign languages myself (English and Spanish at an advanced level), I fully understand the challenges that learners face, and I make sure the learning process is simple, enjoyable, and supportive. Before teaching, I gained valuable experience in customer service, administration, project management, and event organization. Traveling and discovering new cultures are two of my passions: I was born in France, moved to London in England, then to Quebec in Canada, Nicaragua, and I now live in Bolivia. I've traveled to over 25 countries. My mission is to share my passion for the French language and Francophone cultures while meeting new people. Let's connect! ;) Availability: Monday: between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. BOT (Bolivian time) Tuesday: between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. BOT Friday: between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. BOT I could be available at other times to suit your schedule P.S. Bolivian time is the same as in New York and Montreal.

About the lesson

The first step in learning a language is to determine your goals and give yourself the means to achieve them. Don't forget that your motivation will be the key to your learning. My courses are adapted to the needs and pace of each student: grammar, conjugation, spelling, oral and written comprehension, reading, pronunciation, exam preparation or conversation, we adapt the methods according to what suits you best and the skills you wish to focus on. For example, a tried-and-tested method involves introducing the new grammar and/or vocabulary point in a real-life context, then explaining it and assessing comprehension and memorization through exercises, and finally applying the new acquisition in a student-specific setting through role-playing. And above all, a language learner needs to speak it...a lot! So I'll give you every opportunity to express yourself in French!

Luiza is a truly enjoyable student to teach. She is enthusiastic, dedicated, and always completes her homework, which greatly supports her progress. Curious and confident when speaking, she expresses herself with ease and brings a lively energy to each lesson.

She is able to self‑correct, openly acknowledges when she doesn’t understand something, and actively seeks help when needed — a rare and valuable quality at her age. Her progress is remarkable: she quickly integrates, understands, and uses new grammar points. At only 13 years old, she already has a strong foundation and will continue to improve rapidly as she works toward her goal of becoming perfectly bilingual, or even trilingual in English and Portuguese.

Andrés is an enthusiastic, serious, and highly committed student. He shows a genuine determination to improve his French grammar and conjugation in order to achieve his goal of working in a French‑speaking environment in Europe. He identifies his mistakes easily, which helps him progress quickly.
Mastering conjugation and tense agreement fully will require more practice, especially since he is not currently immersed in a francophone context. However, his consistency and strong work ethic will undoubtedly pay off in the near future. He is a motivated learner and a pleasure to teach.
