About Dennis

I am Dennis, an MSc in Finance that I obtained with distinction from an international university in Vienna, where I also won the prize for the best Master's Thesis of my cohort. Prior to that, I completed my Bachelor's at Tilburg University. During my studies, I built a broad knowledge base ranging from management to marketing, but I primarily specialized in Corporate Finance, Investments, Accountancy, and Statistics. Additionally, I worked in financial services for a year. I have lived in four countries and speak three languages.

I tutor because I experienced during my own studies how quickly one good explanation can make the difference between getting stuck and moving forward. Finance is a field where course material piles up quickly, and if you don't understand something well, it can hold you back significantly and cause you to fall behind. I have felt that frustration myself, and therefore know exactly what students struggle with. I now want to use that knowledge to help others.

What you can expect from me:
-I prepare every lesson based on your specific questions and subjects
-During the lesson, we cover as many topics as possible efficiently and focused
-No standard explanations from the book, but explanations that align with how you think

About the lesson

Do you want tutoring that really delivers results? Then it starts with good preparation on my part. Before our first lesson begins, I will send you a short questionnaire about your subject, your level, and exactly where you are getting stuck. This way, we arrive at the table prepared and use every minute effectively.

A lesson with me looks like this:
- We start with the blockage, because it is often not where you think
- I explain the material step by step, connecting it to intuition and practice
- You practice with exercises or case studies so that you can apply it when it matters

Examples of things I could help with:
- Corporate finance and valuation
- Financial accounting and reporting
- Business economics and micro/macroeconomics
- Quantitative methods and statistics
