About Nikki
Languages have always been at the centre of my academic and professional journey. I am a qualified ESL tutor with over four years of experience teaching students of different ages, backgrounds, and ability levels, both online and in person. I hold a PGCert in Applied English and Linguistics (Level 7) alongside a TEFL qualification, combining advanced knowledge of language learning with practical teaching experience.
Outside of teaching, I have a strong interest in linguistics, communication, culture, and how language shapes the way we connect with others. I enjoy creating engaging lessons that go beyond textbooks and help students use English confidently in real-life situations. I believe learning should feel encouraging, interactive, and relevant to each student’s goals and interests.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and adaptable. I understand that every learner progresses differently, so I tailor lessons to suit individual needs, whether that means focusing on conversation practice, academic English, exam preparation, pronunciation, or professional communication. Building confidence is just as important as building language skills, and I aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

My teaching approach is student-centred, supportive, and tailored to each learner's individual goals. I believe that students learn best when lessons are engaging, relevant, and focused on real-life communication. Whether you want to improve your conversational English, prepare for exams, develop academic writing skills, or build confidence in professional settings, lessons are designed around your specific needs.
I use a communicative teaching approach that encourages active participation and practical language use. Lessons may include speaking activities, listening exercises, reading tasks, vocabulary development, grammar practice, and pronunciation work. I also incorporate authentic materials where appropriate to help students use English naturally and confidently in everyday situations.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on your requirements. Each lesson is structured to provide clear objectives, opportunities for practice, and constructive feedback to support ongoing progress.
I have over four years of experience teaching English as a Second Language both online and in person. I hold a PGCert in Applied English and Linguistics (Level 7), which provides advanced training in language teaching and acquisition, as well as a TEFL qualification.
My lessons are suitable for learners of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced students. I work with children, teenagers, university students, and adults, supporting a wide range of goals including general English, academic English, exam preparation, and professional communication.
