About Anjana

Hi! I’m Anjana, a pre-Law graduate and Social Service Worker who genuinely loves working with young people. Teaching has been something I’ve enjoyed since I was a youth myself, and over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with children and youth from many different backgrounds and age groups.

Because of my background in law, I bring strong writing, reading, and analytical skills into my tutoring. And because of my training in social service work, I understand that every student learns differently. Some need structure, some need creativity, some need encouragement — and I adapt to all of it.

I’m especially passionate about helping young people build confidence, not just grades. I want my students to enjoy learning, stay motivated in school, and realize that education shapes how they think and see the world.

Knowledge is powerful — and it’s something no one can ever take away from you!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is student-centred, engaging, and adaptable. I assess each student’s strengths, challenges, and learning style before designing lessons that are interactive and goal-oriented.

Typical Lesson Structure:
️ Warm welcome + quick check-in
️ Review of previous lesson to build retention and confidence
️ Introduction of the day’s focus (phonics, reading comprehension, grammar rule, paragraph writing, etc.)
️ Clear, step-by-step teaching with simple explanations
️ Interactive guided practice (games, discussion, writing together)
️ Independent practice tailored to the student’s grade level
️ Immediate, supportive feedback and corrections
️ Teaching students how to self-edit and think critically
️ Recap + small goal for the next session

What sets me apart is my flexibility, patience, and ability to make learning enjoyable. I create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, no matter their learning pace. My lessons are tailored for students who want to strengthen literacy skills, improve academic performance, or gain confidence in English.
