I am an experienced educator with eleven years working in a secondary school context, specialising in the English curriculum. I love supporting students to grow in both their skills, confidence and maybe, if I do a good job, come to love the subject!

Kia ora! I am an experienced classroom English teacher, and can teach from intermediate age through to NCEA Level 3 (including exam prep).
I love helping students and catering the learning to their specific goals so they feel confident in English and achieve success. My in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum and teaching strategies means I am able to do this effectively.
Typically sessions run for one hour. I co-construct a plan with the student beforehand to come prepared, and can also talk with whānau in order to ensure the student is well-supported in their learning goals.
In terms of my practice, I take a strength-based approach and work from there to extend students understanding, knowledge and skills. I am an adaptable teacher and am able to differentiate learning to best suit the learner in front of me!
