About Vicki

I'm an experienced English teacher with over 10 years of classroom teaching experience and 8 years of experience marking AQA GCSE English Literature examinations. Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of students across KS3 and KS4, helping them to develop both their confidence and their skills in English.

As a specialist in AQA English Literature, AQA English Language and Eduqas English Language, I combine expert subject knowledge with valuable examiner insight to help students understand exactly what is needed to succeed in their exams.

I teach because I genuinely believe that every student is capable of succeeding in English when they receive the right support, encouragement and guidance. Too often, students see English as something they are either "good at" or "bad at" — I enjoy showing them that success comes from understanding the subject, practising effective strategies, and building confidence over time.

There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grow in confidence, begin to enjoy English, and achieve results they didn't think were possible.
My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students become more confident communicators and independent learners.

About the lesson

I believe that every student can succeed in English with the right support, strategies, and confidence.

My lessons combine strong subject knowledge with proven exam techniques to help students understand how to achieve top marks, not just what to learn. I create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing ideas, and challenging themselves.

Every session is tailored to the individual student's strengths, areas for development, and target grades. Alongside building confidence in reading and writing skills, I focus on helping students become independent learners through personalised resources, targeted feedback, and additional practice where needed.

Having taught English for over 10 years and marked AQA Literature examinations for 8 years, I provide students with valuable insight into what examiners are looking for and how to maximise marks in assessments.

My aim is simple: to help students build confidence, master exam skills, and achieve their full potential in English.
