About Chris
With 8 years of experience, including 2 years in an ICT classroom and one year as an assistant principal where I trained teachers, I offer a professional, well-rounded approach to tutoring in both math and ELA. My proven success includes 90%+ in Math and 85%+ in ELA state testing. I use a data-driven approach with regular check-ins, adjusting lessons to meet individual needs. I blend inquiry-based learning with direct instruction, using both digital and tangible manipulatives in math and analyzing author moves in ELA to improve comprehension and writing. I also provide state test preparation. Specializing in grades 2-4, I guide students through foundational skills and prepare them for more complex academic challenges. As a yoga instructor, I can integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) and breathing techniques into tutoring sessions upon request, helping students manage stress, improve focus, and build emotional resilience.
