About Malshi

“One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world.”

Teaching has been my passion since my school days, where I found great fulfillment in helping and guiding my peers. This passion led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in economics and international business from Monash University, further strengthening my expertise in these fields.

With over four years of experience teaching in well-established international schools in Sri Lanka, I have developed a strong foundation as an educator. This journey inspired me to establish Hestia Education in 2025, a platform built on passion, purpose, and a commitment to high-quality learning.

My students have achieved excellent academic results, including top rankings and school honors in Economics and Business. I have also authored academic resources for Years 12–13, which continue to support students in achieving their goals.

Now based in Auckland, I am committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism while helping students build confidence, achieve academic success, and develop a genuine understanding of their subjects.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring focuses on building a deep understanding rather than memorization. I do not encourage students to simply learn from textbooks or notes without grasping the underlying concepts. Instead, I relate Economics and Business theories to real-life scenarios, helping students connect what they learn to the world around them.

I use simple, practical examples to make complex ideas easier to understand and more engaging. This approach helps students retain knowledge and apply it confidently in assessments and real situations.

Lessons are typically 2 hours long, allowing enough time for concept explanation, discussion, and practice. I teach students in secondary school years 11–13 (Levels 1–3).

I hold a bachelor’s degree in economics and international business from Monash University and have over 4 years of teaching experience, including founding and running my own academy.
