About Christina

I am an Irish Early Years specialist with 7 years of teaching experience in Dubai, and I am deeply passionate about supporting young children during their most important developmental years. My teaching is grounded in a child-initiated, play-based approach, where learning is guided by each child’s interests, strengths, and natural curiosity.

I carefully plan sessions that support school readiness in a gentle and developmentally appropriate way. Through purposeful play and meaningful activities, children develop early communication, literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and the confidence needed to transition smoothly into school life.

I have also taught English as an Additional Language (EAL) to refugees in Ireland, which has given me valuable experience working with children from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This has strengthened my ability to adapt learning to suit individual needs and support children learning English with confidence and sensitivity.

I value strong communication with parents and believe learning is most effective when families feel supported and informed. My aim is to ensure every child feels secure, confident, and ready for the next stage of their learning journey

About the lesson

I believe that young children learn best when they feel happy, confident, and genuinely interested in what they are doing. My approach to private tutoring is child-initiated and play-based, meaning I carefully observe each child’s interests and developmental stage, then plan learning experiences that grow naturally from their curiosity.

Through purposeful play, stories, songs, games, and hands-on activities, I help children develop the early foundations needed for school — including communication and language, early literacy, number sense, fine motor skills, listening, and social confidence. Sessions are structured but flexible, allowing children to feel in control of their learning while being gently guided toward clear learning goals.

School readiness is at the heart of my work. I support children in building key skills such as:
• Confidence and independence
• Following simple routines and instructions
• Early phonics and mark-making
• Early maths concepts through play
• Social and emotional readiness for the classroom

I work closely with parents, offering regular feedback and practical ideas that can be easily continued at home. Every child is unique, and I tailor each session to ensure learning is meaningful, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate.

My aim is to help children transition into school feeling curious, capable, and confident, with a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
