About Erik

With a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and business at UNM, I specialize in simplifying complex math and physics concepts for middle and high school students. My background as a military veteran shapes my teaching philosophy: I value accountability, punctual preparation, and clear communication. Having a middle school student myself, I understand how critical it is to establish strong study habits early. I am committed to providing a reliable, safe, and structured learning environment where students stay engaged and reach their full potential.

About the lesson

As an undergraduate student at UNM with a background in mechanical engineering and business—and as a parent of a middle schooler myself—I know firsthand the challenges 13-year-olds face in math and science. Having mastered advanced coursework through Calculus II and Physics II, I specialize in helping middle and high school students build rock-solid foundations in pre-algebra, algebra, and physics.
My lessons are structured, goal-oriented, and centered on accountability. I expect students to arrive on time, come fully prepared with their class materials, and actively engage with their camera and microphone on. If your student is ready to show up, build strong habits, and tackle tough concepts with clear guidance, we will achieve real growth together.
