About Aidan
I am a dedicated and high-achieving high school graduate (about to start Bachelor of Business and law at UTS) with a strong passion for Japanese language and culture. After receiving my school’s Languages Award and participating in a Japan Sister School Exchange, I developed a deep appreciation for both the language and the learning process. I enjoy explaining grammar clearly, helping students improve their speaking and writing skills, and guiding them through the HSC Japanese syllabus with confidence. I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy supporting students at all levels, including Beginners, Continuers and Extension, and helping them reach their personal academic goals.

I teach HSC Japanese with a structured, syllabus-aligned approach that builds clarity, confidence, and consistent improvement. My lessons combine explicit teaching of grammar and sentence patterns with practical speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities tailored to each student’s needs.
A typical lesson runs for 60 minutes and includes a short revision, guided practice, and personalised feedback. Students also receive high-quality notes, vocabulary support, model responses, and targeted exam-style questions to strengthen both understanding and exam technique.
Beyond the classroom, I support students in developing independent immersion habits—including how to find safe, reliable Japanese resources such as reading materials, listening practice, language exchange platforms, and opportunities to connect with pen pals or conversation partners. These strategies help students build fluency, confidence, and cultural understanding in authentic ways.
I have a strong background in one-on-one tutoring and experience supporting students with diverse learning needs through personalised, adaptable teaching methods. As an award-winning Japanese student (Ian Lowcock Award for Languages) and participant in the Japan Sister School Exchange, I bring cultural insight, communication skills, and a deep understanding of the HSC Japanese curriculum.
My lessons are designed for Beginners, Continuers, and Extension students, as well as motivated Year 9–10 students looking to accelerate. I aim to make Japanese accessible and enjoyable while helping every student achieve their best through structured support, engaging activities, real immersion opportunities, and exam-focused preparation.
