About James
I have taught undergraduate maths at the University of California, Berkeley for seven years. I have given private maths tuition for ten years, teaching more than a hundred students between the ages of fifteen and forty in the US and UK, both in person and online. I have helped students achieve As in their courses, pass University entrance exams, and Master's degree qualifications.

- I give problems first to gauge where the student is at with respect to the material. Then I focus in on the weak areas, helping the student to realize the concepts themselves. I have a geometric approach and use pictures wherever possible.
- I have a friendly, somewhat informal style of teaching, running lessons more as a discussion than a lecture.
