About Dorothy

From secondary school to university, I have loved exploring religious and non-religious beliefs/practices and how that shapes our worldview. As a dedicated Form Tutor for six years, I’ve supported students across Years 7 to 13 with their understanding of religion, philosophy and ethics, academic references, work experience, post 16 preparation.

About the lesson

I have taught the 'Big Six' world religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism) alongside smaller religious traditions, philosophy, and ethics, with a particular specialism in A-level Ethics. I have extensive experience with both the WJEC Eduqas GCSE RE specification and the Pearson Edexcel A-level RE course, including teaching, assessing, and marking. My tutoring style is positive, pleasant and patient, I seek to further your understanding at a pace you feel comfortable and using engaging tasks, activities and conversation to enrich your learning/revision experience. My sessions usually take a 4 part structure of introduction, activation, demonstration and consolidation: ranging in tasks from essay writing practice, true or false quizzes, comprehensions etc. time ranging from 40 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes.
