About Li

Personal Description: I am very passionate about languages and cultures. I am fluent in both Mandarin and English and have been teaching Mandarin for the last 9 years. My other big passions are travelling and learning all sorts of things new. I am looking forward to sharing my love of the Chinese language with you. Teaching Experience: I cover all four elements of language teaching syllabus, including listening, speaking, reading and writing. I have tutored students for the past 9 years, ranging from complete beginners, to GCSE students, A level students, HSK students and business professionals. Tutoring Approach: I am very passionate about helping students discover their own ways of learning and developing their own techniques. I believe in consistency in learning. A little bit every day is proven effective in the long term for both academic and language learnings. University : - University of Waikato - Masters [A-] Other Qualifications : TEFL

Perfect! A Top Tutor!
Extra speaking input for my son's IB Mandarin from Li has been excellent. My son who is very particular and doesn't take any prisoners is always very impressed. Li is an excellent, caring, patient and understanding tutor who always gives her best. Always well prepared and pitching with the the appropriate level of challenge to encourage my son to give that bit more. Li understands effective pedagogy fully - we recommend her unequivocally.
Subject : Chinese
Outcome : Increased confidence, knowledge and understanding towards imminent IB exams

Lorraine

Learning Mandarin with Li has been a fun and exciting experience.

Although I enjoyed the language, I did find the pronunciation to be a challenge and the character spelling was overwhelming.

With Li’s help, my grades improved dramatically, I have found great confidence in the language.
