About Matt

I am the head of maths at the highest performing grammar school in the London borough in which it is situated (in terms of attainment at GCSE). I have been teaching for over 15 years and my knowledge of the current Edexcel GCSE is almost flawless.

I have been through several Ofsted inspections and have been graded outstanding, one report describes the learning in my lesson as “rapid” as “the teacher’s extensive subject knowledge was used to tailor activities so they were extremely well matched to students’ needs.”

I have been tutoring for over 5 years and I specialise in helping pupils achieve a grade 7+ on the Edexcel maths higher GCSE. I’m friendly and approachable and like to help pupils overcome problems and build their confidence.

If you are looking for a tutor make sure the one you choose has a good knowledge of the current curriculum - Maths at GCSE has changed a huge amount over the last 10 years, particularly since the new format was introduced in 2017.
