About Lelo

Hello, my name is Lelo. I have been tutoring for over two years and have thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. My passion for teaching began when I started helping friends prepare for important exams and assisting my siblings with their homework. This experience inspired me to pursue tutoring more seriously as a profession. I currently tutor Economics at Stellenbosch University, where I am also completing my Honors degree in Economics. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Pretoria, where I majored in Economics and Statistics. Alongside Economics, I also offer private Afrikaans tutoring. I have studied Afrikaans for over 13 years and have been tutoring it privately for more than two years, helping students build confidence and fluency in the language. My academic journey has given me a strong foundation in both theory and application, allowing me to support students at different learning levels. I am passionate about creating a supportive learning environment where students can grow and achieve their academic goals. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends and family, and I love visiting the beach whenever I get the chance. These moments help me recharge and maintain a balanced, positive approach to life and teaching. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me. About the lesson

My approach to private tutoring focuses on creating a supportive and structured learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and confident. I tailor each lesson to suit the student's individual needs, learning style, and academic goals. I believe that understanding the basics deeply is the key to mastering more advanced topics.

I am proficient in Afrikaans and can teach this language quite well. My lessons are interactive and engaging, with a strong focus on building a solid foundation, practicing exam techniques, and developing critical thinking skills. I use a mix of theory, practical examples, exercises, and discussions to make the lessons dynamic and relatable.

Students can expect a typical lesson with me to include a clear explanation of key concepts, plenty of practice opportunities, personalized feedback, and tips for improving study methods and exam performance. I am patient, approachable, and committed to making sure my students truly understand the material rather than just memorizing it.

My lessons are aimed at primary school and high school students who are learning Afrikaans — whether for school, exams, or personal development. I welcome beginners, intermediate learners, and those looking to refine their language.
