About Benny

I am a professional Design Engineer based in Aberdeen with a deep passion for aerospace, space technology. My background includes working on aircraft engines for Rolls-Royce, and I currently design technical solutions across the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors. My journey into tutoring began after finishing my engineering degree. I discovered an immense reward in passing on my knowledge, sparking curiosity in STEM, and helping students unravel complex problems with ease.

Outside of engineering and teaching, I believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I give dedicated time to my family, stay active through boxing and the gym, and love cooking and experimenting with new flavours. I also do woodwork in my own time and am a strong advocate of being creative with my hands. Additionally, I am a massive Formula 1, basketball, movie, and gaming nerd. I use this mix of technical expertise, creative hobbies to build a genuine relatable connection with my students.

About the lesson

My online lessons bridge abstract formulae and real-world applications using my aerospace and energy design engineering backgrounds. I build critical thinking and structured problem-solving skills that serve students for life and beyond the classroom, not just exams.

Whether navigating the Scottish curriculum (National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher) or English boards (GCSE, A-Level), each session follows a proven structure but not restricted to:

1. Concept Breakdown: Clarifying difficult theories through interactive digital whiteboards and real-world examples.
2. Guided Problem Solving: Collaboratively solving complex maths, physics and engineering questions to build confidence.
3. Exam Strategy: Analysing past papers to master marking schemes and secure top university grades.

My personalised approach adapts to your pace, teaching you how to think like an engineer or intended career path to confidently tackle any unfamiliar exam question.
