George is a brilliant teacher - full of passion, enthusiasm and experience. He is very dedicated to his students and works hard to develop their skills and confidence, and can effectively tailor lessons to suit the student's individual needs and abilities. He is friendly, approachable and trustworthy, and very knowledgeable about his craft.

I already knew George was brilliant at getting the most out of actors/performers from doing a musical production that he directed a few years ago. He treated everyone equally, everyone felt appreciated and looked-after whether they were a chorus member with no solo lines to a principle with three songs! What struck me most at the time was his ability to make new members of the company feel welcome - you’d leave the first rehearsal feeling like you’ve been a part of the company for years, and that was thanks to George.
It was the same being tutored by him in the following years. I went from feeling unrehearsed, rigid and terrified of the interviews, to feeling free to try new things with him, comfortable with my monologue choices, fully prepared for what the drama schools might throw at me in the way of questions. I feel he’s equipped me with a full toolbox of skills, and now I’m excited, not nervous, about going to auditions.
I can’t recommend him enough.

I went to George through a friend who studied with him at Mountview, as he was recommended for Audition and Interview preparation for those wanting to study acting at a higher level. On initial contact, I was welcomed with enthusiasm, curiosity, and excitement about why I wanted to pursue acting and the ways in which he would help me apply to the Master's degrees I wanted to study, and those three welcoming traits always remained throughout working with George. My confidence and self-esteem was constantly supported by George as I went about preparing monologues (which he helped me gain insight into, and choose) which were close to my natural voice and character. This attention to character is one of the most exciting things about working with him, because I came away from each session wanting to act for the sake of acting, and to pursue becoming a better actor - not just a better auditionee/candidate (which it can often feel like when applying to higher education). This is something I will take with me throughout my career.

Not only did George help me be more honest with myself, listen to how I was reacting to a character's words, as well as teaching me to trust myself once all the background work had been done, but he also put in the hours to understand my point of view and my journey. This patience and willingness to go the extra mile translated into the sessions, and to what I know were a formative few months of my emerging career.

George is a very encouraging and patient tutor. He has a very detailed approach and gives exercises that push me to explore things outside my comfort zone. His feedback and notes are also very helpful in tracking my progress. Would definitely recommend him!
