About Timothy

I offer a free 30-minute introductory session to discuss your objectives, assess where I can help and, equally importantly, see whether we enjoy working together. There is no commitment afterwards.

Most of my students already speak good English. They don't need another grammar course. They need to communicate with greater confidence, precision and personality when it matters.

I work with professionals preparing for promotion interviews, important meetings, presentations, negotiations and international roles. We may work on an actual presentation you have next week, practise difficult interview questions, improve the way you structure an argument, or simply develop the confidence to express complex ideas naturally in English.

The sessions are highly individual. There is no standard programme because no two students have quite the same objectives.

As one former student recently wrote to me after trying English classes elsewhere:

**“I started English classes. They were boring; I changed the group, but then I decided to quit. I miss your classes. Really, they were the best classes I ever took!!!”**

I bring more than 30 years of international professional experience across Europe and Latin America to my teaching. I have worked with executives, entrepreneurs, academics and professionals operating across different countries and cultures.

I am also a **published author in English**. My book, *Circle the Wagons*, is a collection of stories drawn from travel, business, football, culture and a life lived between countries. Writing professionally has reinforced something I have always believed about teaching English: effective communication is about much more than correct grammar. It is about clarity, nuance, personality and understanding your audience.

I am also an actor, which perhaps explains why I enjoy working on the human side of communication — presence, confidence, tone and how an idea actually lands with the person listening.

About the lesson

My sessions are designed primarily for professionals who already have a good level of English but want to communicate with greater confidence, clarity and naturalness.

There are no textbooks or standard lesson plans. Sessions are built around you: your work, your interests and the situations in which you actually use English.

If you have something specific coming up, we can work directly on it:

• Preparing for a promotion or job interview
• Rehearsing an important presentation or meeting
• Practising how to respond to difficult or unexpected questions
• Improving the structure and impact of written communication
• Developing greater confidence in negotiations and international discussions

But you don't need an imminent interview or presentation to benefit.

Many sessions use business, current affairs, culture, geopolitics and other subjects that genuinely interest us as a basis for advanced conversation. We use them to develop vocabulary, argument, spontaneity and the ability to express complex opinions naturally.

The objective is not simply to correct your English. It is to help you become a more confident and effective communicator in it.

As one student put it:

I work with a small number of students so that sessions can remain genuinely individual. What we do together will depend on your profession, your level, your interests and what you want to achieve.

We begin with a free 30-minute conversation. I'll assess your English, we'll discuss what you want to improve and I'll suggest how we might work together.

All sessions are online, one-to-one and arranged around professional schedules.
