About Josh

My interest in Excel began with its ability to transform complex information into clear, structured insight. This led me to pursue a B.B.A in Business Information Systems and later an M.Sc in Data Analytics, where I explored data management and modern analytical tools. Over the past 12 years, I have helped students and professionals develop strong Excel skills through patient teaching and hands-on guidance.

My teaching style is practical, supportive, and goal-focused. I explain tools clearly, provide real examples, and ensure learners feel comfortable applying skills independently. I encourage active practice so students build confidence through real tasks rather than passive learning.

Outside tutoring, I remain engaged with data analysis through continued study, exploring reporting methods, and working with evolving spreadsheet technologies. Teaching Excel is fulfilling because I see learners become more organised, capable, and confident. My goal is to help students use Excel as a lifelong productivity and career tool.

About the lesson

Excel becomes a powerful skill when students realise it is not just a spreadsheet tool, but a foundation for organisation, analysis, and smart decision-making. In my lessons, I teach learners how to confidently use formulae, functions, charts, pivot tables, dashboards, and data-cleaning methods. I focus on practical real-world applications so students can see how Excel supports business, finance, research, and everyday productivity. Sessions are friendly, structured, and designed to build confidence step by step.

Lessons are adapted to each learner’s level. Beginners start with spreadsheet basics, formatting, simple calculations, and essential functions. Intermediate learners strengthen skills in lookup formulae, conditional logic, chart creation, and data organisation. Advanced students focus on pivot tables, automation, professional reporting, and analytical workflows that prepare them for workplace tasks. Every lesson includes practice exercises and feedback to ensure skills become usable.

Excel lessons also improve organisation, analytical thinking, and career readiness. Students often feel empowered when they can manage information efficiently and create clear reports. My mission is to help learners gain practical Excel confidence that supports academic and professional success.
