About Jacqueline
My name is Jac, and I am an FRSM-qualified violin and music theory teacher with 17 years of teaching experience and I minor in piano. I specialize in exam-oriented violin training for ABRSM and Trinity College examinations, working closely with students who are preparing seriously for graded exams and long-term musical development. FRSM (Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music) is the highest diploma awarded by ABRSM, representing postgraduate-level performance and professional teaching standards. This background allows me to guide students with a clear understanding of both musical excellence and exam expectations. Over the years, my students have achieved 100% Merit or Distinction results in ABRSM and Trinity exams, and several have gone on to win international competitions since 2022. I take pride not only in these outcomes, but in helping students build strong technical foundations, musical confidence, and disciplined practice habits. I focus on private online teaching because it allows for highly personalized, consistent instruction regardless of location. My program is structured around twice-weekly lessons (1 hour each), enabling steady progress, close technical supervision, and clear practice guidance between lessons. My teaching is centered on one simple belief: students succeed best when they feel guided, supported, and clearly understood. In my private studio, I work closely with students who are preparing seriously for exams. I recommend two lessons per week (1 hour each), as this allows me to guide progress steadily and prevent small technical issues from becoming long-term problems. One lesson focuses on technique and repertoire, while the other reinforces musical understanding, exam requirements, and confidence through careful review and targeted exercises. My teaching is highly personal. Every student learns differently, so lessons are tailored to their pace, strengths, and goals. I provide clear practice guidance so students know exactly what to work on between lessons, helping families feel confident that practice time is effective and stress-free. I take great pride in my students’ achievements. All of my exam candidates have achieved Merit or Distinction, and my students have been winning international competitions since 2022. More importantly, they develop strong foundations, musical confidence, and a genuine enjoyment of learning. I work best with families and expats who value consistency, commitment, and long-term development. My aim is not only exam success, but steady growth in both skill and confidence.
