About Imogen

I am a Law graduate from the University of Exeter with over two years of experience tutoring students online. Having achieved top grades myself, I understand the skills and dedication needed to succeed in demanding exams like the 11+. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s unique learning style, helping them build confidence and master exam techniques. I specialise in preparing students aged 9 to 11 for the 11+ entrance exams, covering English, Maths, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel motivated, understood, and fully equipped to achieve their best results. I am committed to professionalism and clear communication, ensuring both students and parents feel informed and supported throughout the tutoring journey.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is tailored specifically for the 11+ exam, focusing on the core subjects of English, Maths, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning. I personalise each lesson to the student’s needs, ensuring they develop strong skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and key maths topics such as the four operations (addition, division, multiplication, and subtraction), fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, and geometry. Since verbal and non-verbal reasoning are not typically taught in primary school, I use clear explanations, practice exercises, and visual aids to help students become familiar and confident with these areas. Lessons usually last one hour and combine skill-building with exam technique practice. I am a Russell Group Law graduate with over two years of tutoring experience. My lessons are designed for students aged 9 to 11 preparing for grammar or independent school entrance exams, helping them feel confident and fully prepared on exam day.
