About Leah

Hello! I am a language tutor from the UK and currently live in Spain. Languages are my absolute favourite thing, so I've made a career out of speaking them!

I have learnt three foreign languages, which means I have been where you are. Everybody starts out as a beginner, and I'm more than familiar with the uncomfortable process of learning by making mistakes.

I understand how difficult it can be to study for GCSE Spanish or German when languages aren't really "your thing". This is why I try to make the process stress-free. We focus on specific vocabulary and exercises that will boost your confidence in both the classroom and exams.

About the lesson

Sessions can be 30-60 minutes and are aimed at students of all ages and abilities, especially those preparing for GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, and more.

I always start off by assessing my student's level and "diagnosing" their strengths and weaknesses in the language.

To boost fluency in all areas, I draw from a variety of authentic audiovisual materials. We highlight new vocabulary and proceed with an exercise based on the chosen material: conversation, comprehension activity, written summary, or identifying a new grammar concept.

Past paper analysis and feedback is vital for students aiming to improve their exam technique, so I always dedicate time to this.

I have been tutoring since I was a GCSE student myself, and it turned into my full-time job after university. I achieved high grades in my GCSEs and A Levels and went on to obtain a first-class degree in Modern Languages from the University of Bristol.

I also completed a TEFL qualification, which provided training in language teaching methodology. I am now starting an MA in Linguistics at the University of Manchester, and will be specialising in Language Education to expand my skills further.
