About Helena

I achieved 12A* at GCSE and 3A* and 1A at Pre U/A Level. I graduated from the University of Oxford with a Classics degree in 2018. I can tutor Latin, Biology, English and Greek to A Level, and can tutor a number of other subjects to GCSE. I have also tutored Ancient History. I have a year’s experience of teaching English as a Foreign Language at a school in France.

I have experience of tutoring a number of age groups - both in one to one tutoring and in groups. I believe that a tutor should cater for each student individually and tailor their approach to their goals and specific learning technique. My students have gone on to gain entry to highly competitive selective schools (including Westminster School, Winchester College, James Allen’s Girls’ School, Dulwich Prep London and Alleyn’s School) and I have had great feedback.

I also believe that access to education is very important. Please do get in touch if you are interested in free mentoring and support. This would be most useful for those intending to apply for Classics at university.

In my spare time I enjoy learning languages (currently French, Spanish and Italian) and running.

Perfect! Has really helped my son with Ancient Greek
My son has been struggling with Greek and Helena has really helped him. He seems to be much happier with the subject and looks forward to his tutorial sessions with Helena. She is always well prepared and has given him lots of tip and tricks to remember the harder aspects of the subject.
