About Troy
I am a native English speaker studying BA German and Mandarin Chinese at Nottingham Trent University, alongside French as an extra course. I am originally from London, and completely understand the difficulties of learning a language, since I am in the same boat with my subjects of choice.

Each lesson will be focused on a different aspect of British culture. The topics aren’t set in stone so if you have any questions or requests, I am able to cover those in the lesson to follow. I will try to keep this as varied as possible with videos, polls, music, TV, games etc.
The main aim is for you to get comfortable speaking the language in an everyday context, since there are things that just aren’t explained in the classroom.
At the end of each conversation, there will be a summary and a task, which will be optional. This will mainly be research based, with the aim to discover more about the topic, should it interest you. We can then talk about what you’ve learnt in the beginning of the following lesson.
If you have a piece of writing that you want me to check through, then this will be the time in which you submit this.
